Data Deletion
How to disconnect your Instagram, WhatsApp or Threads account from i-Chat, how to have all your data deleted, and what happens to it.
Option 1: disconnect a channel
- Sign in at hq.i-chat.eu.
- In the left menu, open Instagram, WhatsApp or Threads.
- Next to the connected account, click “Disconnect”.
This deletes, at once, the stored connection with its access token, and the auto-replies set up for that account. i-Chat stops receiving and sending messages for it.
You can also remove i-Chat on Meta’s side. In the Instagram or Threads app: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites. On Facebook (used to connect WhatsApp): Settings → Business integrations. Meta then tells us, and if you ask for your data to be deleted there, Meta gives you a confirmation code and a link back to this page, where you can see the request.
Option 2: delete all your data
Email support@i-chat.eu from the address you sign in with and ask us to delete your account. If you have a confirmation code from Meta, include it.
Within 30 days we delete, and confirm to you by email:
- your account, workspace and personal details;
- connected Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads accounts and their access tokens;
- contacts, conversations and the files in them;
- auto-replies, automations, broadcasts and saved replies;
- send history, statistics, support chats and logs.
We keep only what the law requires us to keep, for example invoices. Raw notifications from Meta are deleted after 30 days in any case.
If you wrote to a business that uses i-Chat
Your messages belong to the business you wrote to, so please ask that business first: it can delete you from its contacts in i-Chat (“Delete contact”). You can also write to us, and we will pass the request on and help the business answer it.
Verification
Before deleting anything, we may ask you to show that you control the email address or the connected account, so that nobody can delete someone else’s data.
